IDABEL PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY
IPWA serves over 7,000 customers with water, sewer and sanitation services each day. The water is pumped from Little River which is a tributary of Pine Creek Lake. The water plant treats an average 1,200,000 gallons of water each day, the plant can treat 3,400,000 gallons of water per day. The waste water flows to a activated extended air waste water treatment facility with an average flow of 900,000 gallons of water a day and a max flow capacity of 7,000,000 gallons per day. The sanitation picks up over 100 tons of trash each week including residental and comercial trash. The IPWA also owns and operates the Idabel Landfill at 4105 South Seminole, the landfill has 44.47 acres of land currently permitted. The facility is composed of six (6) distinct units (Phases 1 through 6). Currently, only Phases 1, 2 and 3 have been contsructed and have accepted waste. The current constructed phases at the Idabel Landfill will reach capacity in approximately 13.9 years from December 31, 2015 at current waste loads that are being received at the Landfill.
